The quince girls were complaining they didn't like to give me a salud kiss when I had all that facial hair. I told them I would take it off for their party. All the local barbers shut down early yesterday so their went that plan out the window. So they got an even spinnier scott instead because the trimmers don't go a short as mine at home.
yup i'm tired

Quince

Tonight we are gong to the quince. It has been dominating the topic around the table the hogar and practically every other part of our lives. I taught a bunch of the girls how to twirl and how to do a 1 and 2 without looking at their feet. They look very graceful now so let's part. Apparently when it come to quinces they take the night culture to an extreme. I'm planning on taking a blanket and ducking out and sleeping in the van at about 2 cuz they will be rocking it out till about 6. Which I think is a good idea to duck out because I had the sniffles and a sore throat yesterday. So I spent the day in bed. I didn't leave the house but once to visit out neighbors. I had to buy a big 2 liter of water and some bread for a light morning breakfast. I don't have any pictures of this years quince because it hasn't happened yet but here it a couple from last year. I don't think you the only person that has gone to a quince with me in the state has been Emily. I think the next one I'm gong to make it a mandatory event for the whole family.

Steve we prayed for you at bible study on wednesday night and everyone ask about you today and we are very happy that you are home for a bit

Who want to fill in for me haha

Here is my bible study plan for this evening.

I don't really know where I'm going to end up tonight and where I'm going to end up for tomorrow nights bible study. This is always be how I format bible studies, prep 4 or 5 and see which one God has softened hearts for. I'll know that where every I end up it's not going to be because I wanted to get on a soap box it's because this stuff is fresh off the press. When I take time to breath it's amazing to see what God has really been bouncing around in my heart.

Bible study for tonight and tomorrow you can pray for me if you think of me. Cuz this is one scary math problem (multiple topics) X (Spanish) X ( . . . . . ) = Scott Getting Nervous

The little things in life set the course for every next step in your life. You never know if God is going to take you from the high point and bring you down so you can glorify him. Or if you will be like the kids in my Hogar who have hit the bottom and God will do great things with in the future by staying at the bottom or bring them from the pits to reach new hieghts.

2 Samuel 23:19 -21 You can't become a great warrior without the proper training. And you can't win impossible battle without God on you side.

Ephesians 6 = Armor. U can't go to war without a sword or helmet

Saul’s conversion to Paul in Acts 9 11-15. God does have a plan regardless of your past

Nehemiah 2 = King Artexerxes has a sad servant. God uses a SAD face to work out his plan through a cup bearer.

Ester 6 1-10 Mordecai is honored, but on God's timeline because he has the BIG Picture in mine

Job = Some things are out of our control but I've been hit by a Mack truck just like Job. I can't imagine what it's like to get hit by the 2nd 3rd and 4th trucks behind the 1st. Even after that GOD IS STILL GOOD. What r some things that god has done for u?

Jesus hanging on a cross is the piece to a puzzled that we can't put in without him. Jesus is the only way to the father. But that first and only step of excepting his Gift is sometimes hard to recieve

To become a great warrior what is the path we must fallow

To become a Christian what is the path

To become a cultural and community changing Christian u need a light to fallow. God will use us if we wake up every morning chasing after him

Example. My grandpa. / Omar / ...........

I'm sleeping, just can't get past that 2 Hour hump

Just thought because I have quick access to a computer it would be nice to get a couple two days activities out of the way. Yesterday I went to the gym and we skipped signing up for my marathon because we wanted to get back. little did we know that yesterday was the last day to sign up because this morning the sheets were all full and they aren't excepting any more runners. Bummer, it just wasn't to be, so unfortunate to watch that activity pop out of reach in 24 hours.

Last night as well I took a long afternoon nap. Which was very much on the must do list, unlike my marathon sign ups. I haven't been sleeping well since I got here. The first night was alright because I was on the verge of sleep drunk anyways. But now that my body is running on half a tank of sleep I am hoping one of these nights I can really get a good recharge. WE Live right on the main drag of town. Which is nice for navigating in a town I am not familiar with. But crap if you want to sleep like I do in the states. Mufflers are optional on Cars, Pick-ups and Motorcycles. And all motorized transport is not confined my traffic laws. Unless you considered the once a month motorcycle helmet enforcement. All other vehicles do as they please on sidewalks medians and streets as long as they don't get hurt and cause an accidents. Kinda like mom used to say when we got on our bikes, "It's all fun and games until someone gets hurt" SSSSOOOOOOOOO you can pray for a good nights sleep for me. I did get ear plugs tonight so I'm hoping for a big improvement. Oh and noise from the bread store that turns on every machine and cranks their radio at 4:30 every morning. Let's us pray because the odds are stacked against me and nothing short of a Milagro could improve this situation.

I also went to the thursday night annex service at the Hogar. Tom had told me he wanted me to speak a bit. But I forgot so when they invited me up Tom was going to translate. But to avoid getting stuck as the AMERICAN WHO DOESN'T KNOW SPANISH. I decided to skip to and just speak spanish. I said thank you for the great worship it was a amazing rock show with a 8 year old drummer and a bunch of 40 year olds. Super fun. And yada yada.

After the service Sara invited all her friends over and they wanted to watch a movie. Just so happens that I don't watch scary movies and this one looked scary. So I googled it while they changed the language, decided I didn't like my wiki summery of the movie and went to bed. But after they movie 2 of the guys went stealth into my room and tried to tug my sheets off. The girls and Tom were having a fun time laughing at what was happening from the outside. Little did they know that I all ready had my dark sweatshirt on trying to block mosquitos and sound from the road. So I walked outside but they couldn't see me until I was close because it was 2:15 in the morning. Which panicked the girls after a scary movie. So we're square up I guess.

Today we went to a community out reach for some local nurse and hygenist. They cleaned teeth and did a little medical check up with the pediatrician. They transformed this ratty old trailer into a mobile unit that actually looks great. The outside looks kinda hokey but inside it's like a, wow, gitter done. Fun day I went to another youth event. But we had car troubles. Dead batteries and no Natural Gas. The Second van they had is converted to run on natural gas. Yup. But now I can officially say I had driving in every area of the America's. North, Central, and South.

Good night and wish me luck

What a whirl wind

So here is a quick break down of the last 3 days since I have gotten here in Argentina.

Tuesday = Arrive > Go for a Meet and Greet at the Hogar(Hogar = Ophanage) > Do a Junior High Night > Q&A / Games / Testimony. (Night Culture did go to bed until 2:00am)

Wednesday = Wake up around 10:00 > Run around Town > Return Back to the Hogar > Run Around Town some more > Get ready for High School Night > Q&A / Game / Testimony. 2:00 AM BED TIME

Thursday = wake up at 9:00 > Get ready to go but fell asleep and decided an extra hour would be good to sleep so I arrived in the next wave to the Hogar picnic. > Played games and practiced dancing with all the girls for there quince next week. > Was tired but Tom made pizza so I stayed up for the dinner and a movie and went to bed at 12:00. > Chick Flick (Letters from Juliet)

Friday = Felt Good so I worked out at the gym with Tom. Not all the machines i have state side. But what more do you need some dumb bells, a bench, 2 cable machines, and a treadmill.

I have also been eating, sleeping, waiting for the water to get hot, and playing Words with Friends on my off/on wifi connection. So I have started playing Tom, Brandon, and Mike. So fun to not miss a beat state side.

Just to let you all know of some coming activities that I will be blogging about while I am down here in San Nicholas. I am going to be running in a marathon. I practiced at the gym and decide I'd only do the 3K cuz I also was to be able to dance at the quince that is on the 29th. I love quinces. I may do some tango here in San Nicholas but I don't think I will have time. I'm ussually asleep or trying to keep up with Tom. haha

So it looks like I'm back in the blog world

Wow I am in Argentina.........

This is going to be quite the trip I think. My spanish is taking a crash course in sh sounds be cause they don't change the ll and y sound like they did in mexico. So here we go I'm going to do my best.

Also I did make it here, it was just late. Better late then never. Not to worry mom, but I had a 2 hour gap that I was off the grid. I had computer access I just choose not to use it. My phone didn't work in the airpot. I hadn't coverted my cash yet. I missed my bus to san nicholas because the plane in houston had a 2 hour machanical delay. Then we started off the terminal and had to go back because someone in the back I think was getting sick. I rode in row 17. I could see business class, owh. So I besides a couple speed bump I have made it.

For all those people that have met tom. He got me to work right away. I help tonight with a JH event and bible study. We did a question time. I shared a small portion of my testimony and also surprisingly got to share a favorite verse. In spanish. And yes I butchered my sh sounds and final just started talking like a mexican cuz I haven't made the switch yet. But I hope to get a little of that sound cuz it sounds so smooth. Back to the bible study, I shared a small part of what I got out of growth group last week. Which was Romans 8:26 and how that is rocking my socks.

This trip more than any of my one before actually feels alot like Romans 8:26. I felt like I should go but I haven't been super locked on positive why. It's been a 2 year process of wanting to come down but I just didn't know why. Maybe I had to grow up a little more to be ready, maybe some of these kids at the orphanage had to grow up, maybe I had to wait for some other guiding by God's soverign hands pushing me along the correct path. I don't know. Either way I have enjoyed my reading so far and am taking all chances to grow spiritually and linguistically.

Oh man Oh man this country is FLAT like Texas. Everyone is telling me I have to go north see the mountains. So I may be taking a quick trip up north before dancing to ride (El Tren a las nubes) (Train to the Clouds). Need to make a adjustment to the itinerary. Sorry mom.

Love you all and hope oregon is having great weather like we are here. I was over heating in my jeans today. Except all the locals were wearing Jeans. So I may not be fitting it tomorrow.
