Closing comments on last months book club.

So I have finished "Future Grace" by John Piper. It's a very powerful book and the sub title really sums up the whole book (The purifying power of living by faith in future grace). When I started this book I was excited because I have really been enjoying John Piper. The way he explains and breaks this down just hits home for me. He breaks down complex ideas into simple life changing paths that appears and are so easy if we truly live by faith. To be honest I was wondering how Piper would turn a simple phrase like future grace into a 400 page book but related and every chapter was packed with wisdom. The great thing about this book was the way it was written. Piper prefaced the book saying read it chapter by chapter or skip around because it was written to be a flexible month long read through. Each chapter was about 11 -12 pages in length and each chapter would slam home a home run.

So of the chapters were a bit funny for me when I read the titles and I'll explain why. Example 1 = Loving Ministry More Than Life ( Yes, I do that is why I didn't miss a bible study in three years of leading Sandy) Example 2 = Faith in Future Grace vs. Despondency( Sorry big word don't know what he saying before I read the chapter) Example 3 = The Future Grace of Suffering (I feel like I've realized over the past couple years that my battle with lymes has only proven more of the grace the I live in everyday) Example 4 = this isn't a chapter but a couple times her talked about missions (I'm on a mission trip right now). Either way it was a great book and I would encourage everyone to read it. Even the chapter where I chuckled at the titles, I'd still say I've learned so much that is applicable to my life here and back in the states.

I really think I've come out of this book know more about how God blesses us with his grace in the past and present. But even more I've learn about his "Future Grace" his grace that Victory is guaranteed, that his grace will overflow and his yoke is truly easy if we surrender to his will for our lives, that his grace is freely give and never punishing, that fallowing by faith lead to a bountiful joy and happiness, that in his grace we may experience trials and difficulties but that it will mold and shape us to harvest and equip us for his heavenly kingdom. I must say it's been a joy reading

But I'm not sure what I will start for this months book club. If any of you guys are interested in a certain book or want to make a comment your more then welcome. I've been plugging away at my library of books and I only have three left so I'll give you the list.
