So I have my first game tomorrow

So my team has been practicing for about 3 weeks now and it's been great, we've had a lot of kids show up to practice. We've been able to do a lot more practice games and a lot more interesting drills because are numbers are much better than last months group. The added bonus to that is that because we've been able to do more games and drills, I've been able to practice a little more as well. I want to get better, too. Believe me after 6 years or more of not playing I was a little rusty.

Why am I playing more soccer because not only do the kids respect me more when I play with them. But also Bri (My girlfriend for those of you who don't know the very special woman in my life) is a soccer coach for Sandy High School and I don't want to get trounced the first game I play with her post Mexico. Although I think she will absolutely crush me talent wise. She played in college at NNU and she has the killer instinct that I lack in every way when it come to sports. I think it drive her crazy that I'm the silly goof in any sport i PLAY. Even in the water sports that I love and have a passion for like my Sky Ski. I don't exactly care if I land a trick a 100 times in a summer, five or six is fine as long as I'm having fun goofing around on my ski. That is why I've been practicing and trying to improve my skills on the soccer field. I want her to be so proud of her man when I gets back and realizes that 4.5 months with a bunch of mexicans actually paid off in more ways than just learning Spanish and doing ministry. I'm going to be the goofy"est" looking soccer player on the field, but it will seem like I can I can play alright, not great, but alright. Why do I say goofy"est", because I got some new (Tacos) to play in and I think you all are gong to say "WOW those look like Scott." Tacos are cleat for those of you who don't speak alot of Spanish. Don't worry I just learned that this week and I"ve been here in Mexico for 2 months.I've been playing these last 2 month in tennis shoes which has been fine. 2 weeks ago Tim asked me if I wanted to join a soccer team myself I could. It would be cool not to worry about coaching so I said, Yes. SO I'm a coach on wed. and Fri. and a coach at 10:00 on Saturday morning. But at 1:00 I'm playing on Tim's team for fun. I'm very excited. It will be interesting to see how things turn out, I'll be sure to give the report of how thing go. But lets get back to the main topic at hand. I got some new shoes.I'm excited to play tomorrow. I'm excited not to be coaching. I'm excited to show off my new soccer skills when I get home to the states. Although I may join and indoor team because it will be the dead of winter and the coldest it will gets down here is 75 degrees at 3:00 A.M. I'm excited to wear my new shoes tomorrow for the second time, I wanted to break them in at practice on Wed. I'll give you the update of how things go and are going tomorrow. Today, I just wanted to explain a little bit of the story and introduce you to "Ice Man" and "Cougar." (I named my shoes after some of the names in Top Gun)

Miss you all and hope everything is going well.

For some reason I am not surprised that you purchased shoes in Mexico. Having traveled with you over the years - you always find a place to buy new shoes. Obviously,Bri will have to compete for any shoe budget. Love mom
